The item that they wanted to learn about the most (3.55) was prosthodontic management, followed by preventive management planning (3.51) and oral health education (3.31).
4. Regarding the relationship between their characteristics and needs for senior health education, there were significant gaps in that aspect according to marital status only. The unmarried dental hygienists had more needs for education than the married ones (F=.974, p=.027).
The above-mentioned findings illustrated that the dental hygienists had strong needs for senior oral health education. Therefore sufficient opportunities should be provided for dental hygienists to receive senior oral health education, and the implementation of an inclusive curriculum that covers both of theory and practice is required.
